Bakers Way respite service in Bridgend provides short-term respite service for children and young people with disabilities/complex health needs aged from birth to 18 years.
The position is for a Residential worker, the job will be; to provide all aspects of care, on an individual and group basis, including preparing young people for independence. As a Link Worker you will be involved in helping to implement individual care plans, and undertake household duties as well as some individual tasks.

You must be able to show a commitment to and experience of working with young people, and an ability to work as part of a team and be able to relate well to children and their families as well as other professionals. Ideally you will hold a relevant qualification NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent set out by the Care Council of Wales Qualification Framework.
As the post is residential based, you will be required to work weekdays, and weekends for which you will receive an enhanced payment of time and a third. There is the expectancy to work afternoons, morning and sleep ins for which you with receive an additional payment for.
Due to the nature of this post the Care Standards Regulations state that employees must be 4 years older than the oldest resident. Therefore, applicants must be 22 years of age or older.
