As part of the remodelling of children’s residential care in Bridgend, placement options for children looked after has continued to expand significantly following the creation of a “no wrong door” model. The next step of this extensive remodelling programme is the opening of a solo residential placement ‘pop up’ service which can be utilised across both Children’s and Adults services, strengthening our placement options (by creating another ‘solo’ door) and allowing us to deliver a bespoke service, with joint planning arrangements in place, allowing transition to a longer term placement or living arrangement. In this way we will work towards achieving positive outcomes for children and young adults with a high level of complex needs.
