An opportunity has arisen to work as a Social Worker to cover maternity leave within the Youth Justice Service. The successful candidate will carry out high quality assessments for statutory and non-statutory interventions using the Asset Assessment Tool. The successful candidate will support the team with the creation and delivery of effective practice-based interventions designed to prevent young people identified at risk of offending, re-offending and anti-social behaviour and young people at risk of harm to themselves and others.
Should you be two-years post qualified, there is the ability to take on additional Youth Justice Service responsibilities which can include, an opportunity to mentor newly qualified staff, to work with higher risk cases, to advise other teams on the work the Youth Justice Service provides to children and to support the team with quality assurance audits. These additional responsibilities will reflect the scale of payment.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of children and their families across all areas of Youth Justice, including participating in a Courts rota, and acting as appropriate adult. This will include working outside normal working hours, in the evenings and at weekends as required.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
