As and when required
We are currently looking for flexible, qualified social workers, who take real pride in their work, relish the prospect of a challenge, and are driven by a genuine desire to safeguard and help vulnerable children.
Helping to provide children and young people with the best possible start in life is a key priority for Bridgend County Borough Council as we believe they deserve the best.
You will have a proven track record of working within a statutory Children's Services setting, and knowledge of current practice and legislation. Demonstrating a flexible approach to short term, outcome focused work, you will show adaptability towards working in generic safeguarding teams, as well as specialist teams.
This is a great opportunity if you have had a break in service and wish to return to social work on flexible basis to suit your individual circumstances. It also presents the chance to gain further experience in a statutory setting in order to maintain Continuing Professional Development and meet registration requirements.
If successful we will look to offer you opportunities that meet you requirements and that are in line with the request that you had made in respect of your available working hours. The feedback we have received from successful candidates is that they value this flexibility. Social Workers who are at very different stages in their Social Work career have benefitted from undertaking this role, a number of whom have now become permanent members of staff.
Your role could include undertaking assessments, providing social worker cover when needed, managing cases, leading on specific projects and ultimately being responsive and proactive to the needs of children and their families.
We believe Bridgend County Borough Council is a great place for anyone wishing to further their social care career, particularly as we respect the challenging role of a social worker.
We pride ourselves in creating flexible working arrangements to suit all. By joining us, you will work in a rewarding environment where there is commitment to promoting personal and professional development opportunities, whilst continuously improving performance and delivering better outcomes for children, young people and their families.
Common characteristics amongst all of our employees include enthusiasm, flexibility, resilience and a desire to learn, develop and improve.
Team work is integral to our achievements and we place great value on the culture of support and collaboration. It is therefore essential that all staff are able to positively contribute towards their team and the work of their colleagues.
If you have the experience, knowledge, ambition, drive and attitude to truly contribute to our children's service then we want to hear from you.
