We are looking for a motivated people who are able to be flexible in their working. As a Casual Residential Worker you will be called on to cover staffing shortfalls within the children’s residential provisions operated by Bridgend County Council.
Working as part of a team you are required to provide all aspects of care both on an individual and group basis, you will be involved in helping to implement individual care plans, as well as some individual tasks, you will support young people to develop independence skills, the work may also involve outreach work supporting young people, parents/carers within the community and you will also be required to undertake household duties within the residential home.
You must be able to show a commitment to and experience of working with young people, an ability to work effectively as part of a team, be able to relate well to children and their families as well as other professionals. Ideally you will hold or be required to work towards a relevant qualification NVQ/QCF Level 3 children and young people or equivalent as set out by the Social Care Wales Qualification Framework.
As the post is residential based, you will be required to undertake some weekend working and carry out sleeping in duties.
You may be required to work within any of the four children’s residential homes within Bridgend County Borough. The particular conditions of each home will vary and successful candidates’ eligibility for each vacancy will be ascertained during the assessment process.
