Adult Community Learning is currently recruiting for Skills Tutors. We require part-time tutors to deliver day and/or evening sessions throughout the borough of Bridgend (for face to face, online and blended delivery models). One post will have a lead responsibility in the basic/essential skills sector and one will work with learners on employment related courses.
The successful candidates will undertake engagement and development activities in the community to develop cohorts of learners with basic skills/digital skills/employability needs - giving advice, enrolling and supporting learners on courses; ensuring that they are signposted and supported on to the most appropriate support and provision according to their needs. They will then develop, design, plan, organise, deliver and evaluate sessions/courses in key priority areas at various venues throughout the county/online or using a blended delivery methodology in compliance with all quality and service standards; managing a caseload of learners and signposting to the most appropriate learning methodology. They will also work closely alongside peers delivering other Adult Community Learning classes and assist with promotion of the whole service.
Applicants should possess a professional qualification and/or curriculum area expertise in the priority sectors areas of basic and essential skills and employment related provision. A teaching/delivery qualification is also required, and a full driving licence and own transport is essential. It is a condition of employment that applicants are at a minimum of level 2 in literacy and numeracy.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
