We are looking for a highly motivated person who would be able to join our children’s emergency and assessment residential service. You will be part of a large team within a provision operated by Bridgend County Council.
Maple Tree House offers a therapeutic environment for children and young people, using a trauma informed approach to provide the most effective support possible, enabling the young people to understand their individual circumstances, develop resilience and self-care skills.
Maple Tree House has an onsite Board Certified Behaviour Analyst who co-ordinates the assessment and therapeutic interventions for young people and works with the staff to develop bespoke Positive Behavioural Support Plans designed to reduce challenging or dangerous behaviours and support positive behavioural change.
Working as part of a team you are required to provide all aspects of care both on an individual and group basis, you will be involved in helping to implement individual care and Positive Behaviour support plans, as well as some individual tasks providing intensive support to the young people. You will also be required to undertake household duties within the residential home and in addition to this the successful individual will also, on occasion, be required to provide outreach to young people, parents and carers within the community.
The successful candidate must be able to show a commitment to and experience of working with young people, an ability to work effectively as part of a team, be able to relate well to children and their families as well as other professionals. You will need to hold or will be required to work towards a relevant qualification NVQ/QCF Level 3 children and young people or equivalent as set out by the Social Care Wales Qualification Framework.
As the post is residential based, you will be required to undertake some weekend working and carry out sleeping in duties.
