The Community Resource Team is an integrated Health and Social Care service that provides a range of professional health and social care responses to enable people to achieve what matters to them.
We are on an ambitious journey to achieving a truly coproductive approach to working with people. We believe that everyone has strengths and our mission is to support people to maintain their independence so that they can live their lives well. We have a multidisciplinary approach to enabling and supporting people who live with issues caused by disability, frailty and ageing.
The Sensory Team is small but highly motivated, consisting of Sensory Assistants and ROVI’s. The Team is based in the Community Resource Team and covers the county borough of Bridgend.
The focus of your work will involve providing strength-based assessments and working to develop creative, person centred solutions. Our aim is to improve wellbeing outcomes through strength based practice, drawing on, and supporting, what people can do for themselves and making the most of individual and community assets to maintain or improve independence. You will also work to ensure that people are safe from harm.
Forming collaborative partnerships will be key, working closely with a variety of teams and agencies, including health, voluntary and independent sector, and mental health colleagues.
You will have knowledge and experience of working in the field of deafness and sensory impairment. We are interested in applicants who are qualified to a minimum of BSL Level 2 or are willing to undertake learning to qualify to this level as a minimum.
A key professional within the Community Resource Team you will participate in its ongoing development.
A recognised social work qualification and registration with the Care Council for Wales is essential.
A relocation package up to £8,000 will be considered for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Applicants should note that a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be necessary for the successful applicant.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
