At Harwood House we are committed to providing a high quality residential Looked After Children service for up to three children/young people with complex needs including a learning disability aged from eight to eighteen years; and are enrolled in Heronsbridge School.
Bakers Way respite service in Bridgend provides short-term respite service for children and young people with disabilities aged from birth to 18 years.
Working as part of a team you are required to provide all aspects of care both on an individual and group basis, you will be involved in helping to implement individual care plans, and undertake household duties as well as some individual tasks and develop young people's independence skills
You must be able to show a commitment to and experience of working with young people, and an ability to work as part of a team and be able to relate well to children and their families as well as other professionals. Ideally you will hold a relevant qualification NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent set out by the Care Council of Wales Qualification Framework.
As the post is residential based, you will be required to undertake some weekend working and carry out sleeping in duties.
Due to the nature of this post the Care Standards Regulations state that employees must be 4 years older than the oldest resident. Therefore, applicants must be 22 years of age or older.
