The Social Services and Wellbeing Directorate is looking to appoint a Principal Officer to support the successful implementation of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (Wales) 2014 in our professional social work service.
The successful candidate will analyse, primarily from a professional social work perspective, the implications of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (Wales) 2014, and the associate subordinate legislation and guidance. You will develop a professional practice implementation plan and directorate policies and protocols to ensure that the Wellbeing Directorate is compliant with all the requirements for professional practice entailed within the Act.
You will be an experienced social work practitioner who will understand the implication of the new law and the associate guidance on day-to-day practice within the Wellbeing Directorate and with partners. You will develop policies and protocols to ensure compliance with the requirements of the new ways of working and amend the practice handbook for practitioners accordingly. You will also work in partnership with the training and development team to develop the associate training and development programmes required for social care staff. This role will be a champion for practice within departments programme on changing the culture to deliver the Act.
