The role of the Civil Enforcement Officer is to provide an efficient and effective service of parking enforcement both on street and off street, in order to minimise parking contraventions through the issue of penalty charge notices in appropriate cases. To provide this service in accordance with Council's objectives, procedures and policies. to prevent illegal parking of vehicles as well as ensuring that valid pay & display tickets are displayed and to issue Penalty Charge Notices as necessary. You will also be responsible for opening & closing of the various car parks as required. Another part of the job will be to ensure the parking infrastructure of the towns remain in serviceable condition by the reporting of defects.
You will be able to communicate in a friendly but effective manner. You will have good road safety awareness, strong observational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.
You must have a flexible approach to work as your role will involve working an average of 37 hours per week to an agreed roster working any 5 out of 7 days Monday to Sunday.
At certain times overtime may be required depending on the business needs
