We provide a Day Service within the Resource Centre for approximately 60 people with a learning disability providing an individualised and varied Day Service programme.
As a Day Service Officer Level 2 you will be responsible for the planning, directing and the implementation of specific programs of activities aimed at promoting the wellbeing of the service Users we support. These are always aimed at being Person Centred and independence is highly promoted. The service users we support have complex behavioural needs and / or complex health needs.
Alongside your peer group and supported by the Senior Day Service Officer; you will be responsible for leading and managing staff teams to implement the Day Service objectives for individuals.
To be effective in this role, you will have experience of being a team leader and the ability to be an effective team player; having an understanding of the issues surrounding individuals who have a complex health needs and /or a complex learning disability.
Caring and sensitive, you will be able to communicate appropriately with people at different levels of ability and be prepared to undertake appropriate training.
Working in this service, you will respond to personal care needs, be able to take direction from others and contribute innovative ideas.
Ideally you will hold an appropriate qualification and be supported by good organisational and writing skills.
