Applications are invited for the above position as Area Supervisor.
The successful candidate will assist the Catering Operational Manager in providing an efficient, quality service within a multi-sited school catering business, Welsh Government Primary Free Breakfast Club provision, and function catering.
The successful candidate will:-
Regularly visit and carry out pro-active monitoring of school kitchens, staff and service, providing the necessary reports as required, ensuring good communication with the Headteachers, managers, staff and customers, to meet the needs of the business, creating good working relationships with staff in accordance with the Council's policies.
Support the implementation of new projects to maximise the uptake of meals, ensuring Nutritional Standards are adhered to and encouraging the healthy eating ethos, implementing corrective action necessary to ensure financial objectives and operational targets are met within the units.
Carry out annual team appraisals.
Assist in the recruitment of kitchen based employees. Undertake necessary induction, training and assessment of kitchen based staff and to conduct interviews when required.
Monitor sickness absence and undertake informal absence review meetings and long term sick welfare interviews.
Participate in Q.A. audits, Health & Safety checks and financial procedures monitoring in school kitchens.
Respond to emergencies and crisis situations and any other duties as required by line manager.
Working hours will be between 8.00am and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
