Bridgend County Borough Council is a great place for anyone wishing to further their social care career. We want the best social workers to join us - this is what our children and families deserve.
We are a reflective organisation that continuously builds on its strengths and is committed to the principle that the most effective way of improving outcomes for all Children, Young People and Families is through the provision of accessible, universal services.
Our targeted family support services are co-located with our safeguarding hubs, building on the principle that we want to provide a continuum of services ranging from early help to intensive provision to families with complex needs. These teams are located in three community based hubs around the borough. We also have teams who offer expertise in relation to Children with Disabilities and Young People aged 16+ who are entitled to leaving care services.
We are approaching an exciting phase when, with the support of dedicated project teams, we will be implementing the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) - Act 2014 as well as being the first local authority in Wales to go live with the Welsh Community Care Information System (WCCIS).
By prioritising support for our social workers through robust induction and supervision arrangements, we are continually improving performance and delivering better outcomes for Children, Young People and their Families. Join us and you will work in a rewarding environment committed to promoting your personal and professional development opportunities.
Applicants should note that a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be necessary for the successful applicant.
