We are seeking an effective Officer with experience of complex and detailed casework to join the Housing Solutions team and contribute towards the delivery of a high quality housing service. The successful candidate will have experience of detailed homelessness prevention casework as well as homelessness legislation, and making enquiries and legal decisions in line with the statutory duties of a local authority.
This is a challenging role and you will be required to have excellent communication and negotiation skills as you will be dealing with people often in emotional and stressful situations. You will need to be self-motivated and proactive in preventing homelessness and identifying housing options and solutions to meet local housing needs. You will also need to demonstrate experience of working with partner agencies to deliver support to vulnerable clients.
Working as part of a busy team you will need to work well under pressure and on your own initiative as you will build and manage your own caseload to Bridgend's service standards.
To succeed in this role you will be a good problem solver who is able to work assertively but sensitively and also be a good team player. The ability to collate and present complex information clearly is also essential.
