Bridgend County Borough Council offers a great opportunity for you to further your social care career.
Are you passionate about protecting people's rights and applying the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to support individuals to live with dignity, choice and independence?
Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking a motivated and experienced health or social care professional to join our Adult Safeguarding & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team as a DoLS & Safeguarding Co-ordinator. In this rewarding role, you will provide specialist advice on Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) including developments arising from the judgment in A Reference by the Attorney General for Northern Ireland (AGNI), coordinate complex statutory processes, support safeguarding decision-making, and work alongside partner agencies to ensure adults at risk receive the right support and protection.
You'll be confident applying mental capacity legislation, balancing risk with individual rights, and promoting strengths-based, outcome-focused practice. The role also includes safeguarding duty responsibilities, assessment of Public Protection Notifications (PPNs), quality assurance activity and supporting Best Interest Assessors across the county borough.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist expertise while helping shape high-quality safeguarding and DoLS practice within a supportive, forward-thinking local authority.
Join us and help ensure that some of the most vulnerable members of our community have their rights, voice and choices protected.
