We are currently seeking a Reunification Support Worker to join the Reunification Team in Bridgend. Sitting within the Fostering Service, the role will require you to undertake direct work with care experienced children and young people, their carers and families to ensure that their placements and permanence plans are successful, including both in-county and out-of-county placements.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in working within the legislative, regulatory and policy framework of the Children’s Safeguarding and Assessment Service. They will have proven experience of working therapeutically with children, families, carers and professionals; to create Reunification Support Plans aimed at supporting a child during reunification to parents, step down/up from residential care and transition to either general or kinship foster placements working collaboratively with children’s social workers.
The successful candidate will need to have experience in the planning and delivery of Life Story work, therapeutic parenting support including tools and strategies, chairing family group conferences/meetings where necessary and ensuring all information is accurately recorded and shared within a timely manner. The role can include having to work outside of office hours including weekends when needed so the successful applicant will need to have the flexibility to work to meet the needs of children and their families and carers.
