Your duties will include developing menu options with residents, preparing and cooking meals, ordering and stock control, operating electrical equipment, mechanical and laundry.
You will work as part of the in-house kitchen team to ensure the management and standards of cleanliness and Infection control are maintained. Taking responsibility for your wellbeing and being aware and adhering to Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Policies and Procedures
Your key responsibilities will include: -
Plan, prepare and cook dishes to meet quality standards.
Engage with residents to plan and develop a menu of choice
Assisting in the preparation and planning of menus, adapting menus to meet special dietary for individuals needs as required.
Ensuring that stocks are adequately maintained, completing and placing orders via telephone or providing a list to the clerical assistant to input on electronic ordering forms to the suppliers the home procures. Recorded and check orders for quality assurance
Commitment to ongoing training and development to maintain service standards and compliance with relevant regulations and procedures
Ensure the service complies with Health and Safety, HACCP, COSHH to maintain high standards of food hygiene practices and cleanliness, and that correct hygiene procedures and safe working practices are followed.
Complete and review all safe food hygiene documentation. Review HACCP annually or as and when required with the Residential Manager to maintain safe standards of working practices.
Ensure all records of kitchen responsibilities are completed daily by all members working in the kitchen.
Supervision of kitchen helps or domestic assistants, providing training in the use of kitchen equipment where required.
Co-ordinate and assist in the cleaning of the kitchen, serving equipment and kitchen surfaces.

You will be required to work weekends, and if required bank holidays. The shifts will be arranged by the manager and are subject to change to meet the demands of the service.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
