An exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker who enjoys working within a challenging, fast paced service has arisen within the Kinship and Permanence Team in Bridgend.

We have award winning social care and wellbeing services and some areas that need improvement and will enable you to make a real difference at a time of change.
We want to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people are achieved via the completion of high-quality assessments and provision of comprehensive support packages for children to reside in permanent homes.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Senior Practitioner to support the Team with the assessment and support of Connected Persons Carers, Special Guardians, Private Foster Carers, When I’m Ready and Supported Lodgings Providers.
The successful candidate will need to support team members with outcome focussed supervision, trauma informed practice and completion of high-quality assessments within timescales. You will also need to proactively support the service to reduce children looked after population and provide specialist advice to social workers, safeguarding and family support staff to promote permanence and placement stability. You will need to have up to date knowledge of Fostering and Special Guardianship Regulations.
The role will involve collaborative working across all the Childrens teams within the local authority, in particular the Care Experienced Team who support children looked after. We also work closely with the General Fostering Team and share Duty.
In 2020 Children’s Social Care launched the Outcome focussed Approach Social Work model which underpins all of our practice in Bridgend. All new staff will be provided with a suite of training that will support them to develop their practice in line with the principles of the model. You will receive a robust induction, regular reflective supervision as well as additional support and mentoring where required. Additionally you will be able to further your career with both development and promotional opportunities.
